[...First post of 2012...]
I know I have a backlog of recent trips I have yet to write about, but I’ll get to that soon as I get my blogging groove back on again. In the meantime, to start off my 2012, here’s a video/slideshow that I have put together to formally close the year 2011.
Some of you have probably seen it on Facebook, Flickr or YouTube, but to some of you who are seeing this for the first time, it is a collection of my 2011 travels through my photographs. I hope you enjoy it.
This is a very slightly modified version from the one I posted on YouTube – I added one more bridge, edited a few transitions, and made the captions bigger by one font size so it’s easier to read as it is shown here.
May you all have a great 2012, full of promises and fulfillments!
There are things I will not forget:
the places that awed me,
and the bridges that moved me.
I will not forget
that to every face there is a name
and behind every pair of eyes
there is a soul.
I will not forget
that no matter how far I travel
to the distant past
or escape to the unknown future,
life has a way of taking me back
to the harsh realities of
today.
I will not forget
how I looked up and thanked the heavens
for the hope that each passing day
brings the promise of a new dawn.
For moments are only fleeting
but memories are –
timeless.
